Tesamorelin – Patient Guide
Overview: Tesamorelin is a growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that stimulates your body’s natural growth hormone production. It is commonly used to support reduction of visceral fat, improve body composition, and enhance metabolic function.
Dose: Determined by your medical provider based on your individual needs, goals, and response to treatment
Schedule: Use as directed by your provider
Timing: Best taken at night, ideally 2–3 hours after your last meal
Suggested use: Use as directed; dosing and frequency may be adjusted based on individual response and tolerance
Administration: Subcutaneous injection into the fat layer just beneath the skin (not into muscle). Common areas include the abdomen or outer thigh. Rotate sites with each use.
Storage: Keep refrigerated. Do not freeze. Protect from direct sunlight
Missed dose: Take the next scheduled dose. Do not double doses
Expected benefits: May support reduction of visceral (abdominal) fat, improved body composition, and metabolic health over time. Results are gradual and may vary between individuals
Possible side effects: Injection site irritation, redness, swelling, joint discomfort, headache, or mild fluid retention
What to expect (Day 1–3): Most patients do not notice immediate changes. Some may experience mild fatigue, slight swelling, or changes in appetite as the body begins to adjust. Effects are typically gradual and build over time with consistent use.
Why timing matters: Tesamorelin stimulates your body’s natural growth hormone release, which occurs primarily during deep sleep. Taking it at night, ideally in a fasted state (2–3 hours after your last meal), helps optimize this natural hormone cycle and may enhance results.
Important: Use only as directed. More is not better; increasing your dose without guidance may increase side effects without improving results. Individual response may vary and results are not guaranteed.
Monitoring: Routine blood work may be recommended to assess response, safety, and dosing adjustments. We offer comprehensive lab testing in-clinic for your convenience
Notes: Best outcomes are achieved with proper sleep, hydration, balanced nutrition, and regular exercise. In case of emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
