NAD+ Therapy – Patient Guide
Overview: NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme essential for energy production, cellular repair, and brain function. NAD+ therapy is designed to support energy levels, mental clarity, recovery, and overall wellness by optimizing cellular function at a foundational level. It works within your cells, primarily in the mitochondria where NAD+ is utilized and recycled to support energy production, and is highly active in organs with high energy demand such as the brain, muscles, and liver.
Dose: Determined by your medical provider based on your individual needs, goals, and response to treatment
Schedule: Use as directed by your provider
Timing: May be administered at any time of day based on your treatment plan
Suggested use: Use as directed; dosing and frequency may be adjusted based on individual response and tolerance
Administration: Subcutaneous injection into the fat layer just beneath the skin (not into muscle) or administered intravenously depending on your treatment plan. Injection sites may include the abdomen or outer thigh. Rotate sites with each use
Storage: Keep refrigerated. Do not freeze. Protect from direct sunlight
Missed dose: Take the next scheduled dose. Do not double doses
Expected benefits: May support improved energy levels, mental clarity, focus, recovery, and overall cellular health. Results are gradual and may vary between individuals
Possible side effects: Temporary fatigue, headache, nausea, flushing, or mild irritation at the injection site
What to expect (Day 1–3): Some patients may experience increased fatigue, mild brain fog, or a heavy feeling within the first 24–72 hours. This is a normal response as the body increases cellular activity and begins repair processes. Others may feel minimal immediate effects. As the body adapts, energy and mental clarity typically improve with continued use
Why you may feel tired after NAD+: NAD+ increases activity at the cellular level, supporting mitochondrial function, repair, and recovery. This can temporarily shift the body into a restorative state, which may feel like fatigue. This effect is typically short-lived and often followed by improved energy as the body adjusts
Important: Use only as directed. More is not better; increasing your dose without guidance may increase side effects without improving results. Individual response may vary, and outcomes are not guaranteed
Monitoring: Ongoing lab work is an essential part of NAD+ therapy to evaluate response, ensure safety, and guide proper dosing adjustments. We strongly recommend routine testing as part of your treatment plan. Comprehensive lab services are available in-clinic for your convenience
Notes: Best outcomes are achieved with proper sleep, hydration, balanced nutrition, and regular exercise. In case of emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room
